The shortest route for caspian oil/gas is either through Turkey or through the black sea towards Romania or Bulgaria. All three countries are ruled by puppet regimes apointed by the EU. Turkey also has a history of army involvement in state affairs and guess who pays for their hardware - the good ol US of A.
